Just a quick post to celebrate the fact that I’m BACK ON SKIS!!!!
I have had a smile on my face since Monday morning, when my PT gave me the green light to go for it. After a weekend in Palm Desert, where I played 18 holes of golf, pain free, and climbed a small mountain, also without pain, I had a feeling I had made significant progress from my injury (see Senior Ripper…Ripped), but I was surprised the “all-clear” came so soon.
Mind you, I am confined to greens and blue groomers, but hey, I’ll take what I can get! And I’ve got many weeks left to try to amortize that Deer Valley Season Pass!
Full post coming later in the week from Cub Reporter Gail about listening to tunes on the slopes!
Larry, congrats on getting back on skis. Be careful on the green and blue runs. I think they could be more dangerous than the double black diamonds you usually ski. We have some wild beginner skiers out there.
Trudat, Robert. Yesterday, I skied Kokopelli and Gail and I were the only ones on it! Not sure that will be the case on the weekend. I’m seeing my ortho tomorrow, and assuming he doesn’t confiscate my ski equipment, I’m going to ask if I can do some easy Alpine Touring to avoid the crowds.
Wow. That is remarkable progress. But for the love of all that is holy in skiing, please take it easy. I know, I don’t practice what I preach!
Thanks Nick. I know, I will do my best not to channel the Nick Loeb way.
This made my day! So glad you’re back on skis! Remarkable recovery!
“…climbed a small mountain.” I like that. Glad you’re back!
Glad to read an apolitical happy ending!
Great news Larry. Looking forward to skiing some groomed cruisers with you this spring.
Excellent news! Go for the corduroy!
