Our Love Affair with Buck Hill Falls

In March of 1992, Gail “dragged” me, kicking and screaming, to look at a community in the Poconos called Buck Hill Falls. When some friends suggested we consider renting there for the summer, my response was, “I’ve been to the Poconos and I’m not going back”. Well, Gail prevailed, and we made the 2 hour drive from Brooklyn on a cold, rainy Sunday in March. We left I-80 near Stroudsburg, and drove through the Poconos I remembered. PARENTS

My step-mom, Ellaine, passed away two weeks ago from complications due to Covid. Both she and my dad (whom you may recall is 100) tested positive for Covid a little over three weeks ago. Needless to say, it has been difficult to concentrate on anything else during this time, and writing posts about fun adventures just didn’t seem that important. I could probably do an entire post on that process, but I won’t. Instead, coming of Medicare age brings to mind retirement. To me, they should go hand-in-hand, but that remains to be seen. There was talk of my retiring last January 1. I moved my law practice to a larger firm in August of 2019, with the intent of ultimately having them take over my practice. When, I do not know, but it’s getting closer. What does retirement mean to me? Again, that remains…
